Stick #87: Surrounded on All Sides (Very Unfavorable)
四面楚歌敌环伺，孤立之际要求济。低头认错或求助，暂忍屈辱换生机。
Plain reading
Enemies ring around like Chu songs on every side — in isolation, seek aid. Bow the head, admit fault, or ask for help; endure brief humiliation to buy back life.
Interpretation
This is a very unfavorable lot titled "Surrounded on All Sides." Enemies encircle; isolation is peril. "Bow, admit fault, or seek help; endure humiliation for life" shows face may be spent — life may not.
Situation notes
- Career: Bow to former boss or peer for referral — brief humiliation may open door.
- Relationships: If wrong, admit sincerely first, then discuss repair.
- Wealth: Asking kin for turnover is hard but better than collapse.
Common misread
Auspicious tiers (such as Very Unfavorable) are tone, not a verdict. Name one action you control before redrawing.
Advice
If you wronged someone, seek reconciliation first. If isolated, ask even those you once refused — brief humiliation may buy life.
From the Records of the Grand Historian: Goujian served Wu as slave, endured humiliation years, then restored Yue — brief shame may buy life.
